Non-profit Mulberry School Announces Science-Themed Party & Silent Auction Celebrating Nearly Fifty Years of Education in the Bloomington-Normal Community.

Join Mulberry School and ‘mix it up’ on Saturday, April 6, 2019 for our annual fundraiser and silent auction, Periodically Normal at Hyatt Place in Normal.Attendees are invited to “mix it up” with Mulberry
at this unique science-themed event and celebration of Mulberry’s special style of nurturing love for learning with local families and children.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by a silent auction and raffles. With a fun, yet informal gathering planned, guests are encouraged to wear STEAM casual attire as they participate in competitive and interactive science challenges led by Professor Jake Davis, Mulberry parent and a Chemistry teacher at University High School.

“Periodically Normal is an un-Gala, not stuffy or obligatory, but fun and interactive celebrating the amazing community supporting Mulberry School,” said Lacey Glandon, Periodically Normal event chair and Mulberry School parent. “We hope to see current and past Mulberry families as well as like-minded community members join us for the evening to help raise funds for our non-profit community school. The staff, board of directors, and many generous volunteers are working hard to create a fantastic, one-of-a-kind science extravaganza sure to delight event-goers and take them back to their own sense of childhood wonder.”

This year’s silent auction boasts more than fifty items and raffle packages, including local artist works, a Felt cruiser bike, tattoo gift certificate, White Sox tickets, Star Wars Lego kits, family-friendly local and regional family activity passes and much, much more! Limited child care is available, purchased in advance and is first come first served for $20 per child, ages 3+. Included in the price is food and entertainment, and the children must be potty trained.

Advance tickets may be purchased at Mulberry School or online by credit card (plus fee) at or at the door for $35 per person. Multiple tickets for groups 2 or 8 are available at discounted prices through March 22nd. Not able to attend? Please consider making a donation to Mulberry School.

Mulberry School is an independent, private, non-profit school that provides children with the opportunity to learn in an environment that values curiosity and natural development. We work to “nurture the innate love of learning” by teaching children how, as opposed to what, to learn. Serving the Bloomington-Normal community since 1971, Mulberry School is a cooperative institution where parents can participate in nearly every aspect of the school. It is this support and community that allows us to provide a unique learning experience for our students.
