This month, Mulberry School students and parents headed to the Coliseum for a memorable
ice-skating adventure with members of the Bloomington Prairie Thunder hockey team. For many of
the children, this was their first experience with ice skates - they performed bravely (though
many were happy to scoot around much more quickly with the help of some chairs for support!)
The Prairie Thunder team members provided coaching, support and encouragement, and impressed
the kids (and parents) with a few fancy moves on the ice.
Thanks to everyone who participated in this memorable field trip. This is a tradition we'll
want to keep going in years to come!
Mulberry School fires it up at ISU Homecoming!
Thanks to everyone (especially Mary Jane!) for making the float a success. The food was great at the decorating party the night before,
and plenty of kids and parents (even some from years past!) showed up to fill the float. All the kids behaved splendidly
during the parade - no easy task, since it was two hours long - and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. They really
liked chanting "fire it up", and Mulberry teachers Holly and Sue got their own spontaneous cheers when the children
noticed them among the spectators.
This is a great opportunity to show support for ISU, and help get the word out about Mulberry at the same time. We had
lots of fans in the audience who gave us a special cheer! We're looking forward to next year already!
